Former captain Aaron Finch predicts that the World Test Championship final, which begins on June 7 at the Oval in London, will be exciting, and that he will bet on Steve Smith even though Australia will also need to get rid of great Indian batter Virat Kohli as soon as possible.
“Both (Kohli and Smith) will be batting at number four, so the key is to try and get them as early as possible. It will be crucial to get early wickets to expose them to the new ball. It will be a very close race, but I will always support Steve Smith because I think his record is outstanding,” Finch told Star Sports.
He remarked that the rivalry between India and Australia brings out the best in both teams.
“I think the rivalry is held in such high regard in both countries, that I think it brings out the best in both teams,” he continued.
India has clearly outperformed Australia in the previous three series, therefore I believe both teams will rise to the occasion whether it is played at home, away, or this time on neutral ground. It’s simply a must-watch event.
