Virat Kohli equals Sachin Tendulkar's ODI record

Virat Kohli achieved a significant milestone during the third and final ODI against Australia at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

In the realm of ODIs played at home, Virat Kohli has become the second batsman to reach the remarkable milestone of 5,500 runs.

Virat Kohli has matched the record set by Sachin Tendulkar, making them the only two cricketers with this remarkable achievement.

Sachin Tendulkar's illustrious ODI career saw him accumulate an astounding 18,426 runs, with at least 6,976 of those runs being scored in matches played at home.

Virat Kohli has made significant progress, drawing closer to Sachin Tendulkar's milestone by surpassing the 5,500-run mark, a feat previously achieved only by the cricketing legend.

Just last month, Virat Kohli shattered yet another Sachin Tendulkar record, becoming the fastest player to reach the milestone of 13,000 runs in ODIs.

Kohli had surpassed Tendulkar's record of 20 centuries in ODIs played at home. In home conditions, Kohli now holds the record for the most ODI hundreds, with a remarkable 21 centuries to his name.
